Memory and time are understood through the relationship between contrasting forces. This exhibition traces that idea through five works in five art forms: literature, painting, fashion, music, and architecture.
Each half of the symbol holds a seed of the other, so light and dark can only be defined together, and each keeps turning into the other over time.
Nostalgia is the clearest example. We remember a bright afternoon with warmth, and the knowledge that it is gone is the shadow that makes it precious.
